Exterior Refresh for the Hick 35 Featuring Gloss Boat Blue and a White Stripe

The Hick 35 Bad Habits recently received a striking new look at Blackwattle Bay Marina with a full vinyl hull wrap designed to enhance both appearance and protection. The project focused on refreshing the vessel’s exterior with a clean, modern finish that would stand out on the water while delivering the durability needed for marine conditions.

The scope of works included wrapping both sides of the hull along with the flat section of the transom. Using Gloss Boat Blue (G127), the transformation gave the vessel a deep, high-shine finish that closely resembles a professional paint job, but with the added benefits of vinyl. The gloss blue enhances the natural lines of the Hick 35, creating a sharp, premium appearance while also protecting the original gelcoat from UV exposure, salt, and everyday wear.

To complement the bold colour, a 25mm white accent stripe was installed along both sides of the hull, positioned approximately one-third of the way down from the top. This simple detail adds contrast and visual balance, breaking up the solid blue and giving the boat a timeless yet contemporary marine look. The stripe also helps emphasise the length and profile of the vessel, making it appear even more refined on the water.

The transom was finished with new identification graphics, including the boat name Bad Habits and registration number. Both were produced in white to ensure strong visibility against the gloss blue background. The boat name was installed using the supplied logo, while the registration was applied in Arial at 100mm height to meet requirements. The owner removed the previous registration prior to the works, allowing for a clean and efficient installation.

The result is a clean, high-impact finish that gives Bad Habits a refreshed identity at Blackwattle Bay. The combination of gloss blue vinyl, crisp white detailing, and professional transom graphics delivers a look that is both practical and visually impressive.

Vinyl hull wrapping continues to be a popular choice for boat owners looking for a cost-effective alternative to repainting. It offers faster turnaround times, protects the underlying surface, and provides the flexibility to change colours or branding in the future. For this Hick 35, the upgrade delivers lasting protection along with a standout finish that looks right at home on the water.

Aesthetic upgrades like a full hull wrap illustrate how surface treatments can serve both branding and functional objectives. While industries such as The Pokies https://thethreadapp.com/ rely on visual stimulation to drive engagement, marine refits must justify design choices through durability and lifecycle cost. The tradeoff centers on balancing standout appearance with long term maintenance efficiency.
