One of our recent projects at Innovative Wraps involved a beautifully built 72ft Princess Motor Yacht, formerly known as the Phantom, located at the Sydney Superyacht Marina.
The project aimed to modernise the yacht’s interior by updating the lighter timber finishes throughout the vessel while preserving selected darker timber features that contribute to the yacht’s original luxury aesthetic. By carefully combining new materials with existing design elements, the final result enhances the overall interior without losing the character and craftsmanship of the yacht. Our team worked across multiple areas of the yacht, including the saloon, galley, hallway, master cabin, guest cabins, crew cabins and ensuites. The primary finish selected for the interior was Premium Wood NW114, a sophisticated timber-effect architectural vinyl designed to deliver a refined and contemporary look while remaining durable enough for marine conditions. For the bathrooms and wet areas, Stucco MLS03 was selected to provide a textured, modern finish suited to moisture-prone environments.
Many of the lighter timber features in this area were wrapped to create a fresh, cohesive appearance. As with most large marine interior projects, collaboration between trades was essential to achieving the final result. Shipwright and preparation work was carried out by O’Neills Shipwrights, who were responsible for the removal and replacement of fittings, the removal and reinstallation of roof linings, as well as beautiful headboards in the bedrooms.
Interior boat wrapping has become an increasingly popular solution for yacht owners who want to refresh their vessel without committing to a full joinery replacement or refit. Architectural vinyl allows existing cabinetry and panels to be updated quickly and efficiently, dramatically reducing both project costs and downtime. With a wide range of premium finishes available, from timber and stone textures to matte and plaster-style surfaces, owners can completely transform their yacht’s interior while maintaining the integrity of the original build.
This 72ft Princess Motor Yacht project demonstrates how a carefully planned interior boat wrap can deliver a modern, high-end finish while preserving key design elements that give the vessel its unique character. By combining Premium Wood NW114 throughout the living spaces with the textured Stucco MLS03 finish in bathrooms and wet areas, the yacht now features a lighter, more contemporary interior that enhances its luxury feel.
For yacht owners considering an interior upgrade, architectural wrapping offers a practical and elegant solution that can completely revitalise a vessel while avoiding the complexity of a traditional refit.
