Invisible Protection for a 60ft Fleming: Inside Project Houdini

Houdini 60ft Fleming yacht at Kirribilli Marina

On a yacht like Houdini, the best protection is the kind you barely notice.

Aboard this 60ft Fleming at Kirribilli Marina, the brief was simple: preserve the beautifully finished interior surfaces without altering their original look or feel.

Innovative Wraps applied clear XPEL Paint Protection Film (PPF) to selected benchtops and high-traffic areas throughout the saloon, galley and bridge — adding a discreet layer of defence where everyday life on board leaves its mark.

BUILT TO BE USED. PROTECTED TO STAY BEAUTIFUL.

Houdini was designed to be enjoyed, not simply admired. Across the saloon, galley and bridge, timber surfaces form an important part of the yacht’s interior character — but they’re also exposed to the realities of everyday life on board.

The goal was to add protection exactly where it mattered, without changing the look or feel of the original finish.

PRECISION PROTECTION, SURFACE BY SURFACE.

With 11 benchtops and multiple high-traffic sections across the saloon, galley and bridge, the installation called for a tailored approach to each surface.

Clear XPEL Paint Protection Film was carefully fitted around edges, returns and individual contours, allowing the protection to follow the original craftsmanship rather than compete with it.

The detail is in the edges. Each section was carefully worked around the yacht’s existing curves and profiles, creating a precise finish designed to disappear once installed.

PROTECTION YOU SEE LESS. CRAFTSMANSHIP YOU SEE MORE.

Once installed, the protection becomes part of the surface rather than the story. The natural warmth, grain and character of the timber remain the focus, while the clear film quietly helps protect the areas most exposed to everyday use.

The result is exactly what this project called for: the original interior, preserved without looking protected.

DESIGNED FOR LIFE ON BOARD.

Clear protection doesn’t need to announce itself. On Houdini, XPEL Paint Protection Film keeps the original timber finishes firmly in focus, while adding an extra layer of defence to the surfaces that see the most use.

For yacht owners looking to preserve high-use interior surfaces without changing their character, it’s a subtle upgrade designed to work quietly in the background.
