For ULTRAVIOLET, a 28m Sunseeker, polished stainless steel lettering and purple backlighting create a distinctive focal point across the stern.

Commissioned by High Tide Marine in Rozelle, Sydney, the project involved supplying and installing a custom illuminated boat name. A full RGB lighting system offered a choice of colours, with the flexibility to achieve the precise shade of purple the owner wanted.

Polished Steel, a Purple Glow

The polished stainless steel faces reflect the surrounding light, while purple LED backlighting adds a soft halo behind each letter. Seen up close, the raised lettering gives ULTRAVIOLET depth and definition against the white stern.

A New Name, a New Presence

From SPONTANEOUS to ULTRAVIOLET, the new name brings a different character to the stern. Upright stainless steel letters replace the previous italic style, creating a clean, defined finish that complements the yacht’s existing metalwork.

The Colour of ULTRAVIOLET

The RGB lighting system allows the owner to choose from a range of colours and fine-tune the exact shade of purple. For ULTRAVIOLET, that purple glow gives the stainless steel name its distinctive finishing touch.

Installation was completed over a weekend, before the yacht headed north.
