Modernising an 84ft Yacht Without a Full Refit

Luxury yacht interiors don't always require a complete rebuild to feel new again.
Working alongside DreamBoats in Birchgrove, Innovative Wraps was engaged to refresh selected interior spaces aboard the 84ft SALT while preserving the craftsmanship and character that define the vessel.
Rather than replacing existing joinery, the project focused on carefully modernising key areas through marine interior wrapping and surface protection solutions. The result is a lighter, more refined environment that feels contemporary while remaining true to SALT's original design.
Introduction

Located in Birchgrove, SALT provided the perfect canvas for a carefully considered interior refresh. Rather than undertaking a full refit, the objective was to modernise selected areas while preserving the vessel's existing craftsmanship and character.
The Original Interior
Like many well-maintained vessels, SALT featured extensive timber finishes throughout the accommodation spaces.
While beautifully crafted, the darker timber surfaces created a more traditional look and reduced the sense of openness within some areas of the yacht.
The goal was not to remove these features, but to refresh and modernise the interior while retaining the quality and character of the original build.

Surface Protection
Beyond aesthetics, the project also focused on protecting high-use surfaces throughout the vessel.
Premium protection film was applied to key table surfaces, helping guard against scratches, daily wear and general use while maintaining the original appearance of the finish.
The result is a practical solution that preserves the look of the yacht while improving long-term durability.

The Transformation
Careful preparation and attention to detail were essential throughout the project.
Selected walls and interior surfaces were transformed using premium architectural films, creating a brighter and more contemporary feel across the accommodation spaces.
Rather than replacing existing joinery, the new finishes were integrated into the yacht's original design, allowing the interior to evolve while preserving the craftsmanship that defines SALT.

The Result
The completed transformation delivers a noticeably lighter and more refined atmosphere throughout the vessel.
Updated finishes, improved visual contrast and carefully selected materials help create a modern interior that feels both sophisticated and welcoming.
Most importantly, the project achieved its objectives without the downtime and expense typically associated with traditional yacht interior refurbishment.

Conclusion
SALT demonstrates how marine interior wrapping can transform a vessel without compromising its original character.
By combining premium finishes, surface protection and expert installation, the yacht now presents a cleaner, brighter and more contemporary environment while remaining true to its craftsmanship and heritage.
